This is FINALLY finished, I've spend weeks, agonizing over every fine detail and it's done, a fantasy sci-fi tower village hidden deep in the forest. and just in time too, I have people to show it tomorrow.
I made a concious effort this time to remedy everything I've seen as problems in my other drawings - oversaturation, line thickness and lack of detail. The line weight as such has been pulled down by 1pt and coloured to make it less noticable, the saturation I checked before submitting and the detail...well that's why it's so long in the making.
Since I gave the perfectionist in me cart blanche on this one, I'm still unwilling to submit it, but anything else I try will likely be too much so I'm leaving it as it is now.

There's not too much of a story behind this, it mainly stems for a desire to do something with a tonne of detail and an interesting concept, it was also going to be Escheresque for a bit. I decided only late in the linearting process that it would be clearly sci fi, giving the characters robotic parts and at th back actually adding a robot itself.
In the process of actually making it, I managed to invent a new method of drawing trees, came up with a few custom brushes mainly for shading grass and texturing trees to make it look like I shaded individual leaves, the shading's definitively not cel-based for once and also for once everything contained within is my own, including the funky bird designs.

In theory the buildings at the front are a single house split across a pair of towers with rooftop garden and swing hanging slightly over the edge. the rightmost door has a path leading to an elevator going to the forest floor and the hand in the left door belongs to someone related to the girl on the roof. They live right next to a community hall only accessable from a lower area, which the robotic guide is leading a citizen to. he took the stairs hence why he's so out of breath. These people are not elves but they don't believe in railings because between each tower are massive nets every few levels meaning falling is rarely lethal.
